Intel has been collaborating with Microsoft in order to make Windows 7 able to better identify and manage the available resources. The idea was to have windows 7 equally divide the application processes within the processor cores. This of course applies to the multi-core Intel processor s.
One of the many result that came out of the team work of Microsoft and Intel was the new feature that Microsoft has adopted from his partner – SMT parking. This allows Windows 7 scheduler to be more supported for Intel Hyper – Threading Technology, providing better performance on the Hyper-Threaded, multi-core processors of Intel.
Area of interest also has been the Boot/Shut Down/Sleep and Resume Speeds. In which area I can say from experience that they have done their job. My computer resume faster than I can adjust my chair. Also from personal experience whether or not I have a security program installed and running on windows start my boot time does not change more than 7 second (timed).
Windows claims that Intel were not the only once that Windows 7 has shared, discussed and adopted ideas from. This is what makes Windows 7 unique.
