Microsoft opened its Windows Marketplace for Mobile application store to software developers on Monday. This step has been taken as a result of Apple’s iPhone App Store success.

MS has approved 29 countries that can submit applications to Windows Marketplace and wait for approval.

If you go and visit a given city you can pull out a layer that will extract from Wikipedia all the interesting land marks and point them out ot you. Also the business index is a bit improved, not that I ever had a problem with the old one! Now Google Maps Mobile is only available for Nokia and Windows Mobile Smartphones, but soon it will be available and for others.
