Dragon Age Origins on Windows 7

14 comments November 4th, 2009

I have installed Dragon Age Origins (Both; The Character Creator Demo and the full version of Dragon Age Origins) and they both work flawless. The installation went quick and the game loads up pretty fast (under 30 seconds after the first time). Unlike NFS Shift, DAO needs the user to set up the video setting, which is simply and easy to do at any stage of the game play. There are no problems with the game on Windows 7. If you have any issues with Dragon age on Windows 7 please comment on this blog explaining your problem.

NBA 2K10 Installation on Windows 7

20 comments October 12th, 2009

NBA 2K10 was released today and I installed on windows 7. The installation was easy and the game plays very good so far. There seem to be no glitches or problems of any sort on Windows 7.

NBA2K10 is a very good Basketball game. I even dear to say it could be one of the best out there at the moment. Unfortunately I am not a great fan of Basketball games but I was still impressed by the graphics of the game. If there are installation issues with this game on Windows 7 Please write in the comments section of this article.

Need For Speed Shift 2009 On Windows 7 Vs. Vista

10 comments September 26th, 2009

Need for Speed Shift was released on Sep. 15 2009. So I got it and couldn’t wait to test it on my machine. So I decided that I will install it on both OS’ – Windows 7 and Windows Vista. I have both in dual boot mode.

I was surprised to discover that NFS Shift was actually running a lot better on Windows 7 and by a lot I mean about 50%. On Windows Vista my graphics default settings were very low compared to those in Windows 7.

This clearly shows that Windows 7 is going to be the chose of OS for the hard core PC gamers.

Need For Speed Shift is a great game maybe one of the best of the NFS series. The car collection is great. The game experience is very exiting. There is a great simulation of the race driving.

Windows 7 Student Discount Cheat

1 comment September 25th, 2009

Microsoft has offered Windows 7 for 30$ to students. In order to take advantage of this offer College students need to provide their college email. However the school emails are based on student numbers for example ff2356@CollegeX.edu.

Windows 7 for Students

Windows 7 Student Discount

What the colleges offer is that students can customize their emails so the emails contain names for example ff2356@CollegeX.edu can be customized to SmithWillson@collegeX.com.

Now this person will be able to get the emails sent to both ff2356@CollegeX.edu and SmithWillson@collegeX.com. But this customization is not final the student can keep on changing his email as long as no other current student is using the desired name.

Apparently MS does not recognizes this email changes so the same student can keep on changing his/her email name and keep ordering discounted copies of Windows 7.

Is this going to bring Windows 7 Student Discount to a premature end or Microsoft will just take the lost, and how many people will take advantage of this exploit… this all remains mystery for now! You can order a student copy from Microsoft Online Store

From XP to Windows 7 – No Direct Update Option!

No comments July 27th, 2009

Windows XP is as of now the most preffered Windows version worldwide. It is more reliable and more stable than anything else, or is it? It was up until Windows 7 came to live (Official release Oct. 22, 2009). Microsoft did not make it easy for the XP customers since they will not have the opotion to directly update to Windows 7. This means that all of their applications will need to be reinstalled in a new Windows 7 install. Here comes the tricky park; “Which software works on Windows 7?”. Well if you need applications that are regulary updated such as FireFox, MS Office and so on, you are in good shape. However, if you are using some old software that you have installed 2002 and never updated, you need to do a little research and find the latest Windows 7 supported version or to find alternative software.

So here are your migrating options:

You can doual booth Windows XP and Windows 7 – (This will allow you to switch to XP at anytime and use XP applications as needed) (Recommended)

You can install Windows 7 on a new conputer and keep XP on your old one (This will allow you also to acces XP applications at anytime)

Ofcourse you always have the option to make a clean install but then you are risking to loose some time when a needed application is not avaliable for Windows 7

Microsoft, Windows 7 and NetBooks

No comments July 21st, 2009

Microsoft is known to loose a lot of money because of the new trent in the computer market – the NetBooks.

The reason for that is that the customers that buy NetBooks are looking for a cheap computer and there fore cheap OS.

Apparently MS doesn’t like having on shelfs cheap OS. So what seems to be their solution is to offer a light version of Windows 7 with options to update to more expensive Windows 7.

The question still remains how much cheaper would Windows Started be?
